Our names are Alan and Helen Grove, time served experienced videographers

Grove Video Services is a very successful and professional video company based in Pontprennau, Cardiff, South Wales. We have been providing services such as Live Events, Weddings, and Corporate Videos for over 35 years covering the whole of the UK and beyond.

A short introduction of how we started

So, back at the start of the 80’s (No, not the 1880s) there was the introduction of Video in the form of VHS Video Tape recording media. At that time Alan saw an opportunity and the possible need for a Wedding Videographer.

So after investing in a Camcorder and some other equipment he decided to record the odd wedding or two while still holding a full time job. Within just a few years he and Helen became very popular and so took on more and more weddings, until turning their business into one of the most sort after and successful wedding video companies in and around Wales.

At this time both Alan and Helen had entered and won many competitions for wedding video and had earned many certificated top awards for their wedding video productions.

As the years passed on into the 90’s Alan engaged in a two year Video Production course at Coleg Glan Hafren, Cardiff. Here he gained top marks and was awarded a City & Guilds 7700 grade by the London Guild, the highest grade possible for video production.

Around this time Alan and Helen had been approached and employed by various AV companies as Freelancers to film and produce things like Corporate Events, Seminars and Company Training Videos all around the UK, as well as local Drama Groups, Dance Shows, and Stage Events.

Today, and after having successfully covered just under 2000 weddings in the 35 years, we’ve decided to shift our focus and just specialise in corporate videography. We’re excited that we are still at the top of our game in the videography business and still covering many Live Shows and Corporate Events throughout Wales and beyond.

Our approach to filming is quite simple… We operate in a very discreet manner which results in a more relaxed approach to those being filmed on camera. Most enquiries we receive for our services are passed to us via recommendation from past clients such as Theatres, Event Organisers, AV companies, Schools & Drama Academies to name a few. Both Helen and I feel that it is important to provide a personal approach to each and every client, from the initial enquiry right up to the delivery of the finished Video and beyond.

Alan Grove Founder

Alan is a time served cameraman with over 40 years experience in video and has gained many awards for his filming and production skills and techniques. He still enjoys every aspect of filmmaking and editing, and loves keeping up with the very latest technology. Basically, he’s a Gadget Geek.

Helen My Boss

Helen has played a massive part in the success of our company. Without her influence we would not be where we are today. She has many years experience as a camera operator, and loves to get involved with any production. She has great People Skills, which is something that can only be gained from experience. She has also earned certificated qualification status within the video industry.
