Our names are Alan and Helen Grove, time served experienced videographers
Grove Video Services is a very successful and professional video company based in Pontprennau, Cardiff, South Wales. We have been providing services such as Live Events, Weddings, and Corporate Videos for over 45 years covering the whole of the UK and beyond.
A short introduction of how we started
It all began in the early 80s (no not the 1880’s) with the arrival of VHS video technology. Recognising the exciting possibilities of this new medium, Alan saw an opportunity to offer something that was still relatively rare at the time – professional wedding videography.
After investing in his first camcorder and some basic editing equipment, Alan began filming weddings while continuing to work full-time. Word quickly spread, and within a few years he and Helen had built a reputation for producing exceptional wedding films. As demand grew, so did the business, eventually becoming one of the most respected and successful wedding videography companies in Wales.
Throughout those years, Alan and Helen entered numerous industry competitions, earning multiple awards and professional accolades in recognition of the quality and creativity of their wedding productions.
Committed to continually developing his skills, Alan later completed a two-year Video Production course at Coleg Glan Hafren in Cardiff. Graduating with top marks, he was awarded the prestigious City & Guilds 7700 qualification by the London Institute – the highest grade available in video production at the time.
Those early foundations of technical excellence, creativity, and dedication continue to influence every project we undertake today.
Over the years and into the 90’s, Alan and Helen have worked as freelance videographers for a wide range of AV companies, filming and producing corporate events, seminars, conferences, and training videos across the UK.
Their expertise has also extended to recording performances for local drama groups, dance schools, and live stage productions.
With nearly 45 years of professional experience and almost 2,000 weddings successfully filmed, they have now chosen to focus exclusively on corporate videography. Today, Alan and Helen continue to deliver high-quality video production for corporate events, conferences, and live shows throughout Wales and across the UK, combining decades of experience with the same passion and commitment that has defined their work from the very beginning.

Our approach to filming is quite simple… We operate in a very discreet manner which results in a more relaxed approach to those being filmed on camera. Most enquiries we receive for our services are passed to us via recommendation from past clients such as Theatres, Event Organisers, AV companies, Schools & Drama Academies to name a few. Both Helen and I feel that it is important to provide a personal approach to each and every client, from the initial enquiry right up to the delivery of the finished Video and beyond.
Alan Grove Founder
Alan is a time served cameraman with over 40 years experience in video and has gained many awards for his filming and production skills and techniques. He still enjoys every aspect of filmmaking and editing, and loves keeping up with the very latest technology. Basically, he’s a Gadget Geek.
Helen My Boss
Helen has played a massive part in the success of our company. Without her influence we would not be where we are today. She has many years experience as a camera operator, and loves to get involved with any production. She has great People Skills, which is something that can only be gained from experience. She has also earned certificated qualification status within the video industry.
